Total Internal Reflection Lens for Optical Wireless Receivers

چکیده
This work considers the use of a freeform total internal reflection (TIR) lens for optical concentration and provides first time experimental results in context wireless communications (OWC). The is placed on surface-mounted device (SMD) avalanche photodiode (APD) to minimize position tolerances simplify assembly. achieves ratio go = 44.7 (16.5 dB) within FOV center exhibits an acceptance angle ±5°. TIR approach validated by comparing eye diagrams bit error ratios (BER) receiver with without lens. For measurements, non-return-to-zero (NRZ) on-off keying (OOK) signals are transmitted data rate 1.289 Gbit/s.
